Company Seeking Casino License Gives $100,000 to O’Malley Group

BALTIMORE, MD – The Baltimore Sun’s Annie Linskey reports that Caesars Entertainment has given $100,000 to the Democratic Governor’s Association (DGA).  The DGA is led by Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley.  Caesars is seeking a license to operate a casino in Baltimore.

O’Mallley’s spokesman has said the governor keeps association business separate from state decision making. An independent board whose members are appointed by O’Malley, the House speaker and the Senate president will determine whether Caesars can build a casino here.
