All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. – Edmund Burke
Tomorrow you have an easy, simple method to show your support for liberty, justice, and the American family. Simply go to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (or all three if you are able). If you like chicken, you’ll enjoy a great meal. If you are like me and aren’t a big chicken eater, get some waffle fries and a drink. Regardless, eating at Chick-Fil-A tomorrow will show those that want to curtail free speech (at least speech that supports family values) and redefine the American family that there are still plenty of Americans who believe in simple things like God-given liberty and the traditional family.
Why the fuss? Chick-Fil-A, the Cathy family (owners of the Chick-Fil-A brand), and its 1,600+ franchisees support horrible things like free enterprise, entrepreneurship, the traditional American family, and the right to operate under Biblically-based principles. Ever wonder why Chick-Fil-A stores aren’t open on Sunday?
Because of their support of the traditional American family, those promoting anti-family values such as same-sex marriage are attacking Chick-Fil-A. They have gone so far as to attempt to drive Chick-Fil-A franchisees from college campuses and left wing, anti-family politicians have even attempted to prevent Chick-Fil-A franchises from opening locations in their area.
Chick-fil-A is a family-owned and family-led company serving the communities in which it operates. From the day Truett Cathy started the company, he began applying biblically-based principles to managing his business. For example, we believe that closing on Sundays, operating debt-free and devoting a percentage of our profits back to our communities are what make us a stronger company and Chick-fil-A family.
The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our Restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect –regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.
Our mission is simple: to serve great food, provide genuine hospitality and have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.
Have you ever heard of Chick-Fil-A refusing service to someone because they might be gay? Of course not! This would be contrary to the biblical principles which have guided Chick-Fil-A and the Cathy family to such success. Do you see anti-gay posters or material on display at Chick-Fil-A restaurants? No! Their crime is simply to refuse to capitulate to the prevalent culture which says “Anything Goes! Children raised by two men or two women (or three or four?) are as well off as if they were raised by a loving husband and wife.” SHAME on Truett Cathy, Dan Cathy, and every Chick-Fil-A franchisee who dares go to church on Sunday and thank God for the blessings He has bestowed on us all.
Imagine if we refused to patronize a business because the owner was gay. What would the media say if Christians publicly attacked a group because they don’t believe the same things that we do?
I have no real problem with those who support gay marriage boycotting Chick-Fil-A. While they may choose to ignore God’s teaching on this issue, that doesn’t mean they lose their God-given right to free speech. What dismays me is when these same people attempt to destroy the businesses of hard working, God loving folk because they dare to believe something contrary to what a secular humanist elite believes.
Support Chick-Fil-A tomorrow and every chance you get. If we allow them to falter, you could be next.
